The formal business of the AGM, from 2pm, will include reports from Nigel Elderton (chairman, MPA), Stephen Navin (chief executive, MPA) and Robert Ashcroft (CEO, PRS for Music, who will report on MPA’s subsidiary company MCPS).
Following the formal business, and with a nod to this summer’s other major event, we will stage a World Cup of Songwriters and Composers, where publisher gladiators will lock in quiet but persuasive combat and like (imagine) Demosthenes in debate with Cicero each in turn will wow and seduce the crowd to favour their chosen composer over the composer of the other. The crowd will decide the winner.
