Chris’s consultant interests are: Music business education; music marketing & promotion; artist development; Music business; E-learning development professional development.
His key research interests include: corporate creativity and innovation; music marketing practice; and the history of music business.
After completing 1st class BA honours degree in Commercial Music at University of Westminster, Chris went on to become a senior A&R executive at 3 Major Record companies including, Virgin EMI, Sony and Universal Music Group delivering No.1 selling albums and singles working with artists, songwriters and producers such as Blue, Atomic Kitten, Robert Plant, Natalie Imbruglia, Lulu, Lemar, Diane Warren, Gary Barlow, Stargate, Steve Lillywhite, Mark Wallis, David Kosten, Rob Davis and Cathy Dennis.
During his time at Universal he was head of A&R for the BBC/Endemol reality series, Fame Academy, and went on to work for Universal Music Group in Shanghai, China consulting on A&R and Marketing for China’s number 1 television show, Wor Xing Wor Show.
Chris is currently a Senior Fellow of Higher Education and senior music business lecturer working at various UK and European universities and institutions. He is an education, music course curriculum designer & validation consultant as well as a board member of UK Music Skills Academy helping to further integrate music education and industry.
Chris also creates and delivers executive corporate training programmes for clients that include Universal Music Group, BPI, Sony Electronics, EA games (LA), eBay, Pernod Ricard and Telefonica ranging from music industry specialisms to executive & business creativity and innovation programmes.
