Andrew Haveron – Violinist, the Brodsky Quartet

Andrew Haveron has been the first violinist of the Brodsky Quartet for the last six years. During this time the quartet has performed over 200 quartets all over the world and recorded 13 CDs. Whilst the quartet was actually founded before he was born, Andrew has enjoyed catching up with its history and achievements and has had the pleasure of performing numerous times with regular collaborators Elvis Costello, Bjork and Sting.

In this short time the quartet has commissioned at least fifteen new works and premiered countless more – not counting an extensive education project in 2003 that generated over 100 new songs for quartet and voice, written by school children.

In what feels like a previous life, Andrew won many awards at international violin competitions and under the right circumstances will admit to having been one of ‘the Three Violinists’.
