Dan Nixon - 'Young Silence' filmmaker / writer 20JazzFunkGreats

Returning to his native Brighton in 2003 Dan Nixon quickly established himself with Thomas Clay’s controversial British feature ‘The Great Ecstasy of Robert Carmichael’ which went on to be selected for Critics Week at Cannes 2005. Various music videos and documentaries followed before he once again re-teamed with Clay on 2008’s ‘Soi Cowboy’. That film was selected for the prestigious Un Certain Regard section at Cannes 2008 before being released theatrically in 2009.

Later that year Dan was invited to become a partner in the Brighton based production company Fractured Films.  Having produced promos for Disney and Sony at Fractured Films, he went on to direct several music videos and documentaries including the feature length concert film Yes Way and the internationally acclaimed video for Echo Lake (famously shot on the Microsoft Kinect).

Dan is one of three people responsible for the popular music blog 20JazzFunkGreats.  He is also part of the collective behind the long-running monthly club night 13monsters and the boutique record label Hungry for Power.
