Fiona Mason - Arts Fundraiser; Artistic Director, SEGUE

Fiona Mason has worked in the creative and cultural sector as a creative producer, music promoter, artist manager, venue manager, business consultant and fundraiser for the last 20 years.

In 2005 she set up creative producing, consultancy practice and label SEGUE as a vehicle for developing, producing and presenting an eclectic mix of music-led cross-art form work, through which she continues to develop her own projects.  She was founding Director of SoundExchange, the music development organisation for Essex and from 2010-2013 sat on the panel for Escalator Music, Arts Council England East’s flagship development programme for independent music.

As a fundraiser Fiona’s focus is on public sector and charitable trusts and she has raised over £6million in grants for a wide range of projects and artists during her career.  As an artist herself Fiona is sensitive to the challenges inherent in developing an entrepreneurial approach to your work that does not compromise your creativity or artistic vision.  Helping artists take charge of their own careers by developing the tools that will enable them to take responsibility for both their business as well as their creative choices is central to Fiona’s approach.
