Guy Chambers - Songwriter & Producer

A graduate of the London Guildhall School of Music in 1985 Guy is perhaps best known for his collaboration as a songwriter and producer with Robbie Williams on five massively successful albums – Life Thru A Lens, I’ve Been Expecting You, Sing When You’re Winning and Escapology.

To-date these albums have sold in excess of 40 million units worldwide. For his work with Robbie, Guy has received numerous prestigious awards including 3 BRIT Awards, 3 Ivor Novellos, a Q Classic Songwriter Award and an MMF best produced record award for I’ve Been Expecting You.

2006 projects include working with a talented new artist from Virginia USA called Ross Copperman, signed to Phonogenic, the label that signed Natasha Bedingfield. So far they have cut two tracks with a third in the pipeline. Guy is also developing a musical with Tim Firth (Kinky Boots, Calendar Girls, Our House).

Melanie C’s version of First Day Of My Life co-written by Guy and Enrique Iglesias features on Beautiful Intentions and is her biggest European hit to-date, peaking at #1 in Germany, Portugal, Switzerland and Spain. Previously recorded by Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli the track is shortly to be released in France and also Australia.

Last autumn Guy worked largely in Los Angeles producing INXS’ first new album in eight years, Switch . The album features two tracks co-written by Guy, Hot Girls and Us.

Other 2005 successes were tracks for Jamie Cullum’s third album, Catching Tales, Charlotte Church on Tissues And Issues and for James Blunt.

In 2004 Brian McFadden’s first single Real to Me, one of several collaborations taken from his debut album Irish Son went straight in at #1 in the UK. Previously Guy has written and produced material for a many other artists including Kylie Minogue, Tom Jones, Will Young and Andrea Bocelli and contributed to various film projects incl. Bridget Jones’ Diary and Finding Nemo.

Guy is a member of the Society of Distinguished Songwriters (SODS), a LIPA Companion (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts) and a Patron of the Unicorn Children’s Theatre. He has acted as an External Examiner for the University of Westminster and appears as a regular guest presenter on the BBC-4 live Proms.
