Matt Fretton - This Isn’t For You (TI4U)
Matt has worked in the arts for more than twenty years. He ran a live music club aged fifteen and performed as a solo musician in the 1980s, releasing records on the Chrysalis label and touring as the opening act for artists including the Eurythmics, Bob Geldof and Depeche Mode. Matt also worked with Derek Jarman on a promotional film, produced and engineered CDs of improvised music and ran an independent record company and recording studio.
Matt studied briefly with Barrington Pheloung (composition), and with Glyn Jones, Rufus Müller and Alan Ewing (singing). In 2000 Matt joined the artist management company Askonas Holt, where he worked for Maxim Vengerov, Olga Borodina and Alina Ibragimova, on touring and promotional projects. At Harrison Parrott he worked for a diverse list of artists including Christian Tetzlaff, Stephen Hough, Julian Joseph and Jaz Coleman. Since July 2005, Matt has run his own artist and project management company, Ferus, and in January 2006 launched London's first classical music club night This Isn't For You at Shoreditch Town Hall.
