Matt Smith - Co-Founder & Director of Strategy, The Viral Factory
Matt Smith co-founded The Viral Factory in 2001 with Ed Robinson. Since its inception, TVF has constantly pushed the boundaries of viral marketing, sometimes too far. They have been behind many of the sector’s biggest viral campaigns, working with clients like Samsung, Diesel, Activision, Skype and numerous others. TVF is now the leading viral advertising agency with over 1.5 billion amassed views of their campaigns and a loft office in Shoreditch.
Matt was one of the very earliest proponents of viral marketing, and launched an influential viral video website as far back as 1999. Called Punchbaby.com, it was started as an excuse to share videos at work. It was a prototype for many of the popular viral video channel sites in existence today.
