Neil Robinson – Publishing Director, IPC Ignite!

Neil Robinson is the Publishing Director of NME, NME.COM, Uncut, NME Originals and Uncut Legends.  Neil joined IPC back in 1994 and has worked around the IPC Ignite! portfolio throughout his career.  He became Publisher of NME, Melody Maker, Vox and NME.COM back in 1997.  He was a key member of the team that launch Uncut magazine in 1997 and in 1999 assumed overall responsibility for all Internet activity.  He drove the site to its current position as Europe’s number 1 music news website.  At the start of 2002 he returned to head the whole music portfolio as Publishing Director and join the board of IPC Ignite!.

Since then his major achievement has been to steer both NME and Uncut towards their current positions as market leaders.  NME’s publishing strategy has been one of overhaul.  No longer leaving ink on your fingers, NME now connects young music fans with the most exciting, good-looking bands on the planet.  Uncut, on the other hand, has confidently embraced the older end of the market while still championing certain types of new music.  The magazine delivers on a monthly basis the most authoritative view of rock’s 40-year history while never forgetting the best of today.

His team have achieved a lot. He boasts three BSME awards for his editors over the last four years and four PPA awards during the same period.  This is more than any other music portfolio.
