Phil Legg - Founder, Futureproof Records

Phil comes from an eclectic background.  Starting as a guitarist in various bands, he toured Europe supporting acts such as Iggy Pop, The Human League, Scritti Politti and Joy Division, before having immense success as an engineer working alongside Sade, Boy George, The Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode, Erasure and many others.

His production of Desree, The Pasedenas and Martin Ware (Heaven 17), and the critically acclaimed Terence Trent D’Arby Album, ‘The Hard Line According to…’, firmly established his position in the British music scene.

Remix work includes De La Soul, Lisa Stansfield, PM Dawn & Eternal. TV work includes writing and producing music for various programmes incl. ‘Life, Death & Damien Hurst’, the documentary about the recent New York show by this controversial artist.

Always looking for a way to channel his music Phil created Futureproof, then began nights at the Gate, showcasing various ideas and attracting new talent along side numerous DJs spinning a selection of hip hop and R’n’B grooves.  The clubnight went on and won Best Club at the ‘My Village.com’ awards giving it an impressive profile around the Notting Hill area.

In 2003 the record label and publishing company were launched.
