Ruth Barlow, Head of Live - Beggars Group

Ruth Barlow is the Head of Live at the Beggars Group she has been working in the music industry for over 14 years. After graduating from the University of East London in 1998 she began a stint of work experience at London based indie radio station XFM and within two years became the station’s senior music producer looking after all specialist programming, producing daytime shows, booking the stations live sessions and sitting on the influential playlist committee. Jumping ship in 2002 to the Beggars Group, Ruth was a National Radio Plugger running radio campaigns for The White Stripes, TV On The Radio, M.I.A, Biffy Clyro, Interpol, the Raconteurs & Thom Yorke’s debut solo album amongst many others.

In 2006 she was invited by chairman Martin Mills, to establish a new role that aimed to strengthen the Group’s ties in the live arena, this evolving and developmental role has involved working with promoters, agents, retailers, ticketing agencies and Beggars Group labels to maximise opportunities for our artists; including live events, bundling, merchandising and Brand Partnerships. Alongside this Ruth also looks after the Groups global live & festival licensing, as well as sitting on the Beggars Board contributing to overall business development.
