Sarah Gee – Director of Communications, CBSO

Sarah joined the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in 1999. Responsible for marketing & sales, audience development, media & public relations and fundraising, she manages a team of ten generating income of over £2.5million pa.

She led the CBSO through a successful rebranding process and devised diversity, marketing, fundraising and communications strategies for the company. In 2002 she was shortlisted ‘Birmingham Young Professional of the Year’; she was also nominated Midlands Businesswoman of the Year for 2003.

An erstwhile horn player, Sarah is a regular trainer and speaker on marketing, branding and fundraising matters in the UK and overseas, and lectures at De Montfort University. She is a Trustee of Audiences Central, a Director of Birmingham Professional Diversity and sits on Birmingham Future’s Leadership Team.

She also judges for The Queen’s Awards for Voluntary Service and the Midlander of the Year, is an advisor to the University of Central England’s PR course, and writes a column for Birmingham’s Evening Mail.
