Our principles

What information do we collect?

We collect information on our users in two ways: through web site usage data including cookies (see below), and through registration.

Registration allows you to access premium content on the MusicTank web site, such as the facility to listen to mp3 audio and take part in online discussions.

When you register on the MusicTank site you knowingly choose to provide MusicTank with personal information.  The minimum information we need to register a user is an email address for newsletter subscription, OR a name, e-mail address, user name in order to become a MusicTank member.  By default, only the username will be visible to other users, unless you explicitly choose to make more of your details available to other users of the MusicTank web site.  Any further details you choose to supply about yourself and your company when you register are provided at your own discretion.

If you submit articles to the site or take part in discussions, we may retain the content of your articles, posts and related responses.  You may be identified as the author of any content you supply to the MusicTank web site by reference to the details you have chosen to make available to the public upon registration, and subsequently (See the Publishing Disclaimer for details of MusicTank’s policy on the use of content supplied by users of the MusicTank web site.)

We also allow users to update their personal information and newsletter subscription status at any time.

Email updates

Website visitors may opt-in to receive regular email newsletter from MusicTank when they become a registered member of the MusicTank web site, or when they update their personal information.

Web site visitors can also opt to receive email newsletters without becoming registered MusicTank web site members by providing their email address only.  MusicTank will retain the email address until they receive a request to unsubscribe sent from the same email address.

MusicTank email newsletters will typically be sent once every four weeks, although occasional additional emails about MusicTank events may also be sent from time to time.  Newsletter subscribers will be notified if the frequency with which email updates are sent changes.

Only registered members who have opted-in will receive email updates from MusicTank.  We will never intentionally solicit or proactively send promotional emails to registered members unless they have explicitly asked to receive this type of communication.

Any user can opt-out of communications at any time by updating their personal profile, and users should contact us directly in the event of any issues or concerns.

Events and courses

When booking for an event you will be asked for information such as your address, company, telephone number and credit card details.  This data will be retained by MusicTank for purposes relating to the administration of that event or course, and may also be used to monitor usage of MusicTank’s web site and other activities.

By registering for a course or an event, you agree to receive communication relating to that course or event.

Sharing your information

At no time will we sell or release your personal data to any third party organisation (subject to the Exclusions stated below).  Many organisations collect data in order to sell on to partners and affiliates, but MusicTank has no intention of doing this.
