Alex Vlassopulos - Head of Business Development, Digital, Sony BMG

Alex completed a BA Honors degree at Durham University in Classics and started working for Universal Music International in 2003, specialising in the early days of the mobile sector as Production Manager.  He then transferred to Universal Music UK as Product Development Manager, Digital in 2005 with a focus on all business development.

Having moved to Sony BMG in 2006, he is now the Head of Business Development, Digital, looking after the commercial and new business aspects of the UK digital business and is responsible for commanding commercial agreements / business development with new / existing partners.

Focused on industry first achievements: New licenses, strategies, D2C initiatives or groundbreaking business models. Recent examples in 2008 include being the first major label to sign up to the We7 ad-funded audio streaming service and a partnership with Three Mobile for ad-funded video streaming with Rhythm New Media.
