Marc Fox - Freelance A&R Consultant

Founder member of Haircut 100. Pelican West, their debut album, sells 2 million records (‘Fantastic Day’, ‘Love Plus One’, ‘Favourite Shirts-Boy Meets Girl’). Mark becomes lead singer of Haircut 100 after departure of Nick Heyward and makes doomed second album for Polydor Records.

Mark then becomes session percussionist and arranger, recording with McCartney, Depeche Mode, Tina Turner, Erasure, Pretenders, The Beat, Breathe and The Christians.

Clive Calder and Ralph Simon ask Marc to join Jive Records/Zomba Music Publishing.  He A&Rs, and records with, Billy Ocean, Samantha Fox, Whodini, Jazzy Jeff, Krsone, Jonathon Butler, Louise Goffin, Wet Wet Wet, Cher and Hollywood Beyond.

Malcolm Dunbar employs Mark as A&R man at Warner’s, and he becomes involved, with Max Hole, in the start-up of East West records. Mark signs The Beloved and Jimmy Nail and then becomes Head of A&R after seven years as A&R manager responsible for Errol Brown, Ian McCulloch, Tanita Tikaram, Chris Rea, Beloved, Jimmy Nail, Red Box and The Wild Hearts.

In 1995 Paul Curran creates new position as Senior Creative Director and International A&R. Mark seeks writing and production opportunities for Dave Stewart, Terry Hall, Billy Bragg, Paul Weller, Marius de Vries, Harding and Curnow, Nicky Chinn and 19 Music. He signs Phil Thornalley, Simon Climie, Sneaker Pimps, Olive, Pat Metheney and Lyle Mays.

Mark introduces the Spice Girls to Absolute and to Simon Fuller. He signs Natalie Imbruglia to BMG Music Publishing and RCA Records.

He becomes  consultant for RCA Records, A&R-ing Heather Small’s debut album.

Mark is currently A&R consultant for Hugh Goldsmith at Innocent Records (EMI/Virgin) on Martine McCutcheon musicals album.  He is also A&R consultant for ‘Popstars – The Rivals’ and working with the girl band ‘Girls Aloud’ on behalf of Polydor Records.

Co-owner and Director of 360 Mastering, a sonic solutions editing and mastering studio facility in Fulham, and Director of Dalmatian Songs, a joint venture publishing company with BMG.
